  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • 2 dried red chillies (broken)
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

Other Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized tomato (finely chopped)
  • ½ Spoon turmeric powder
  • salt to taste)
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ spoon jaggery
  • 1 cup tamarind extract
  • 1 cup toor dal (cooked)
  • 4 to 5 curry leaves
  • 2 green chillies (slit lengthwise)
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves (finely chopped)

Step 1: Prepare Rasam Masala

Now add 2 spoons of ghee in the same hot pan, add 1 spoon of chana dal and 1 spoon of toor dal and fry on low flame, add 3 spoons of black pepper and 2 spoons of cumin seeds, and 5 spoons of dry Add green coriander and fry well, add 8 to 10 curry leaves, add half spoon fenugreek and half spoon asafoetida and mix everything.

Now take out all of them in a bowl, and grind all these mixtures in the mixer, first grind the red chillies in the mixer and then add all the roasted spices in and grind them well. Rasam powder is ready.

Now take 1 cup of toor dal in a pressure cooker, wash it thoroughly and put it in the cooker. Now add 4 cups of water, add half a teaspoon of turmeric and boil it for 2 to 3 whistles. After the whistle, open the lid of the cooker and mix the dal well. Mix with a spoon, the dal is boiled and ready.

Now heat 2 spoons of oil in a pan, add 3 to 4 dry red chillies, half spoon mustard seeds, 8 to 10 curry leaves and 5 to 6 garlic cloves after grinding and grating them, now fry all on low flame. Now add 1 pinch of asafoetida, 3 finely chopped tomatoes and salt as per taste and fry until the tomatoes melt well.

Now add 1 teaspoon turmeric and tamarind water (let the tamarind melt in hot water for 10 minutes before pouring this water into the pan), now add about 300ml hot water in it and keep it on high flame till it boils for 3 to 4 minutes. Then add boiled lentils to it.
